When Bumi was old enough to start feeling insecure about being the only non-bender in his family, dear old Uncle Sokka took him on a mini-vacation to Kyoshi Island to prove to him that you don’t need bending to be a powerful warrior (as if Sokka wasn’t proof enough). While there, Ty Lee taught Bumi chi blocking as a nasty surprise the next time Kya tried water whipping him.
Commander Bumi ocassionally calls General Iroh “Prince Iroh,” just to try to get his goat. But Iroh secretly likes it.
“Bit of a wild man, but the bravest commander you’ll ever meet.”

I need these two to be bros.
IF ONLY I COULD PORN :”””(
I actually hope Bumi isn’t Iroh’s father
Because I accidentally started shipping them during the finale
And had come up with a backstory (including the age difference) and everything before people started theorizing about that
And I just want to be able to sail this one ship, please
Please
For a while, she didn’t notice he was slipping away.
I can’t even imagine how terrified Toph must have been in this scene.
- she has no control over her body whatsoever.
- she’s off the ground. which means she cannot see at all.
She could not do anything and has no sense of vision at all.

After today’s episode and watching Lin Bei Fong “see with her feet” again, all I can think of is that that is not something all Earthbenders can do. That is what Toph did, to compensate for her blindness. And so, in teaching this to her daughter, she would have had to blindfold her.
And now all I want is an episode or a fanart or something that shows a flashback of mother and daughter, training together. I want to see how stern Toph was with her, if she ever joked with Lin, if Lin was so serious as a child, if she ever kidded back. I want to know how much Lin learned from Toph beyond the bending, how much she was influenced by her in full.
